What are the standout plays in episode #86?
Episode #86 delivers a mix of spectacular plays and embarrassing failures. The first clip, a Wolverine ultimate, is being hailed by viewers as the best Wolverine ultimate ever landed. Another highlight shows a Psylocke player attempting to use her ultimate on a Peni Parker nest, only for a Loki healing rune to be deployed afterward, negating the attack. Viewers pointed out that Psylocke's ultimate cannot brute-force kill everything and that the player should have anticipated the counter. Elsewhere, a streamer known as Punch is seen falling off the map repeatedly, prompting a comment that there should be a specific counter for how many times he has fallen off that particular spot on that map. The compilation also includes a moment where a player complains about an invisible enemy while playing an invisible character themselves, and a clip where a streamer's scream is cut off mid-sound for comedic effect.
Why do viewers question the channel name "Rivals Guides"?
Some viewers have expressed confusion over the channel name "Rivals Guides" because the channel primarily posts clip compilations rather than instructional guides. One commenter suggested renaming the channel to "Clips" since no guides are posted. However, the channel does occasionally produce guide-style content, and the clip series is part of a broader effort to entertain and inform the Marvel Rivals community. The name may be a holdover from earlier content or a broader branding choice. Regardless, the channel continues to publish weekly clip shows that highlight the best and worst of Marvel Rivals Twitch streaming.
How do viewers react to specific clips and streamers?
Viewer reactions to episode #86 range from praise to criticism. The Wolverine ultimate clip received unanimous praise, with comments like "the first clip is actually the best wolv ult ever hit oms." The Psylocke ultimate fail drew criticism of the player's decision-making, with one viewer noting that the player must be new to Psylocke. A clip featuring streamer jay3 was met with some negativity, with a viewer asking to stop posting "jay3 clipfarming slop." Another clip involving a player complaining about an invisible enemy while playing an invisible character themselves was called ironic. The compilation also includes a clip from streamer Necros, whose performance on a duelist was described as "nasty af." Overall, the comments reflect a community that is engaged and opinionated about the gameplay and the streamers featured.
What can you learn from the fails and rage moments?
Even the fails and rage moments in episode #86 offer learning opportunities for Marvel Rivals players. The Psylocke ultimate fail demonstrates the importance of understanding enemy counter-play: Psylocke's ultimate can be neutralized by healing abilities like Loki's rune or by structures like Peni Parker's nest, so players should scout for these before committing. The clip of a player complaining about an invisible enemy while playing an invisible character themselves highlights the need for situational awareness and understanding each character's strengths and weaknesses. The repeated falls off the map by streamer Punch are a reminder to watch your positioning, especially near ledges. Finally, the rage moments show that even high-level players can get frustrated, but keeping a cool head is key to making better decisions in the heat of battle.
